I’m Zahid Javali

A journalist since 1996, I’ve done just about everything under the publication sun. From working in dailies and weeklies to newspapers, magazines and websites. Some of them include LiveMint, The Man, The Sunday Guardian, Worldstart, SilverKris, M, Touchdown and Men’s Health, among others. In 2018, I was a finalist in the ‘Media Person of the Year’ category at the Namma Bengaluru Awards.

I am the Editor and Publisher of Residents Watch, a six-year-old hyper local monthly magazine on HSR Layout (Bangalore) that turned into a daily news channel for HSR Layout in September 2018. In 2019, the portal expanded its reach to include more Bengaluru neighbourhoods like Whitefield, Bellandur, Koramangala, and Indiranagar, among others. In 2020, Residents Watch was also the recipient of Google News Initiative Journalism Emergency Relief Fund.

I am the co-author of Mind Blogs 1.0, a book of non-fiction, and the Festival Director of The Times of India Literary Carnival held in January 2014. I was also featured in Tuhin A Sinha’s book, Daddy: The Birth of a Father.

My last post was as the City Editor of MiD DAY, the daily tabloid that I helped start in Bangalore. Today, I run Write Wing Media, a content marketing firm helping businesses to ‘write’ their way to the top by clarifying their marketing message. That apart, I also freelance as editor and writer for publications in India and abroad. If you wish to hire me as a writer and/or editor, or content marketer, email me at zahid@writewing.in.
